A one-person hardware lab in Delft, Netherlands. We build small, honest products for people who love old cars.
SMARTMIND started with a simple question: why do old cars have to look old inside?
Classic BMWs — the E46, the E39, the E36 — are still on the road because they were built well. But their dashboards belong to a different decade. Analog gauges, no live engine data, nothing to tell you what your car is actually doing under the hood.
We thought that could change without ripping anything out. So we built a small digital gauge that plugs into the port every car has anyway, runs firmware we wrote by hand, and shows you what your engine is thinking — in real time, on a screen that feels like it belongs.
No app. No subscription. No cloud. You plug it in, it works, it keeps working. Firmware updates are free, forever.
Every unit is assembled and tested in Delft. Small runs, small team, real support if something breaks.
Nothing we sell requires cutting, drilling or splicing. Unplug it and your car is exactly as it was.
Standard parts, socketed ICs, open documentation. If it breaks, it's fixable.
You buy it once. There is no server we can shut off to make it stop working.
We build in small runs. Not everything is in stock — but everything is real.
